Cristina’s passion for midwifery began when she became a mother in 2013. Feeling empowered and well informed resulted from the care that she received throughout her pregnancy and postpartum and she felt called to help women have a similar experience. Her original plan of becoming a L&D nurse changed and she quickly enrolled in a self-paced program through the National College of Midwifery. She felt she could better serve families in the midwifery model of care with more continuity and in a space with less interventions. She strongly believes families should be empowered to take charge of their own healthcare through informed decision making and enjoys helping families navigate the many decisions throughout the childbearing period with evidence-based, family centered care.
Now a mother of two, her free time is spent with her family chasing after her young children and puppy. Despite the busyness of life, they can be found at the beach every opportunity they get.
